When you travel to different countries, you will find that people have different habits of telling you how to get to the place you want to go.
In Japan, people often use landmarks(地标).The Japanese may say to you,"Go along the road. Turn left at the big hotel and go past a fruit market. The post office is just across from the bus stop."
In Kansa, America, people will tell you directions(方向) and distance(距离). People will say,"You can get there easily.Go north two kilometers.Turn east, and it's on your left."
People in Greece sometimes do not give directions.A Greek will often say,"Follow me."Then he or she will take you to the place.
Sometimes if a person doesn't know the answer to your question, he or she might say,"Sorry, I have no idea."But in Yucatan, Mexico, no one answers,"I don't know."They usually give an answer, often a wrong one. A visitor can often get lost in Yucatan!
One thing will help you everywhere. You may not understand(理解) a person's words, but maybe you can know his or her body language. Only if her or she points in the right direction, go in that direction and you may find the place.
A.To draw a map B.To point to landmarks C.To use body language D.To give a wrong answer E.To lead(引导)you there F.To tell directions and distance |
Hi, I'm Samuel. I'm a backpacker(背包客). do I feel about being a backpacker? Well, I feel excited.
Backpacking is great fun, but there is some advice(建议) for you (follow): First, live in hotels the police station. When you have (problem), you can always ask the police for help in time. (two), don't take much money with you. It can get lost (easy)and it is usually hard to find it. Third, find out good restaurant in the neighborhood. If many people go there to eat, it must be welcome and have some delicious food. Last, don't just read the map in your phone, because it's not always right. Sometimes the map tells you to go along the street in fact you should turn left at the crossing. It is really helpful for you to spend some time (talk)with people there and walking around after dinner. Most people are usually friendly and you can ask (they)for help. Follow the advice and you can have a good trip like me.
When people go to England, they must learn something about the transportation (交通) there. In England, cars, buses and bikes must keep to the left side of the street. If a person wants to cross a street, he must stop and look at the traffic lights or look both ways down the street. And not looking left first, they look right first. But in China, people will look left first when they need to go across the street. There are few people walking on the street in England, so buses and cars often drive very fast. People need to be very careful when crossing the street.
If visitors(游客)want to go around in London, they should learn to use buses and the underground. First of all, they must know in which direction(方向)they are going and which bus or underground train they must take. At the bus stop they wait for buses to come. As soon as they get on the bus, they must pay for their tickets(票). Some buses there don't tell the stops, so you need to tell the driver where you will get off. Some of the buses have one door only. People get on from one side and get off from another side.
