When Susan was a high school student, her English teacher, Fred DiMeo, asked her to carry out a task: Recite (背诵) a poem in front of the whole class.
"I had a mild stutter (口吃), which tried the 1 of my classmates," Susan said. The thought of 2 in front of the class and stuttering through the 3 was too much to bear. When the day of the recitation came, Susan, painfully shy and 4 , recited the poem. Once she was done, DiMeo said something she'd never 5 before: that he liked listening to her voice. Susan recently found a way to 13 her teacher, and sent him a letter expressing her 14 . " You played a big role in my life," she wrote. "I don't know where I would've gone if I felt like I had to keep my voice 15 because I was afraid of embarrassing (使尴尬) myself. "
The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. And throughout all of this, Anna has had to9 school work and hospital life. Her sufferings with cancer forced her to really10 herself because she was out of school for quite a while. Now she has11 and has straight As. Anna's father, Eric Bartel, said her journey has inspired him to 12 every moment, enjoying time with his loving daughter.
Anna is doing well these days though. She's13 in theater and is a coach's assistant. "When you're on14 you have to keep fighting, "Anna said. "Always live life to the fullest each day. You're loved. Your life 15 ."
One hot July day, three police officers went into a market to get something cool to drink. Once inside, they were 1 by a security guard (保安人员) to help with a 2 woman.
