Several years ago, at the door of a house, I saw a small dog walking excitedly to me. As I took the 1 out of my bag, she swung her tail. I 2 things every day, and I'm used to being greeted by different dogs.

However, she was the 3 dogs I'd seen. "Sir, give the thing to my dog, Pippa, please," said her 4 , Melissa. I lowered the parcel towards Pippa's mouth, and she seemed to walk away with it 5 . Melissa explained, "As a member of our family, she takes pride in 6 us to get things inside." What a cute dog!

Pippa 7 my daily visits. Even when there was no parcel for her house, I couldn't 8 riding by her house, thinking that she was waiting for me. I'd stop to write "MAIL FOR PIPPA" on a card and then hand it to her. Pippa became someone 9 to me.

Last month, she risked her life to rescue a girl in the water. She was a real 10 . People around finally 11 for such a brave animal.

Now, meeting dogs is what I 12 most about being a man to send parcels. I've also made friends with some of them, who love it when I arrive at their 13 . I think I've got the best job in the world!

Every Christmas Eve, I dress up as Father Christmas and carry balls for all the dogs I've got to know through my 14 . I write on each card, "To Dogs Met on the Way to Work." I always think all dogs are 15 , but this Christmas I'll favor Pippa and award her an extra gift for her bravery.

The 13-year-old girl Anna Grace is a volleyball manager a basketball manager, and a theater volunteer, but perhaps her greatest1 is the fact that she has beaten cancer twice. 

Anna was first diagnosed（诊断）with a rare type of2 in December of 2019. A softball player at the time, she told her parents she was experiencing muscle 3 in her left arm, only lifting it about eye-level. She had to4 surgery on her left arm. 

For the following weekends after the surgery, doctors scanned her5 to make sure she was cancer-free and then in August of 2023, doctors6 a spot on her lungs. She had another7 on September to remove it. Anna said later the first time with cancer, it felt like a learning stage. The second time around, it was a little 8 to accept the news. 

And throughout all of this, Anna has had to9 school work and hospital life. Her sufferings with cancer forced her to really10 herself because she was out of school for quite a while. Now she has11 and has straight As. Anna's father, Eric Bartel, said her journey has inspired him to 12 every moment, enjoying time with his loving daughter. 

Anna is doing well these days though. She's13 in theater and is a coach's assistant. "When you're on14 you have to keep fighting, "Anna said. "Always live life to the fullest each day. You're loved. Your life 15 ."

Last year, I started the journey of being a remote product designer. The thought of a flexible (灵活的) schedule, a comfortable home office, and the escape from the 1 public transport was incredibly 2 . The first few weeks were filled with a long-lost feeling of 3 .

However, the 4 of working from home gradually set in. I had started my day with the best 5 , promising myself quick breaks and regular stretches (伸展) . But deadlines, endless emails, and virtual meetings 6 me to my computer throughout the day, leaving me little time to 7 . Gone were the short walks to a coworker's desk and the quick lunchtime walks around the office complex. Finally, my world was 8 to the walls of my home, my steps 9 in meters only rather than kilometers. 

One day, I tried 10 one of my favorite dresses and it wasn't passing through my waist (腰) at all. Looking at myself in the mirror, I saw a 11 person carrying extra weight, rather than someone enjoying freedom. The 12 of work and personal life had left me feeling like I was a never-ending motion machine. 

This incident (事件) marked the 13 of a journey of self-discovery. I made up my mind that I needed a (n) 14 not just for my waistline but for my overall well-being. It was a promise to prioritize my physical and mental health, and a promise that I could 15 control over my life and my body.

A mom makes mini-me toys as unique as the children who embrace them. 

Asa 1 worker using play therapy to help children through their cancer treatment, Amy wished she could 2 her patients with dolls that bore their all-too-familiar hair loss and surgery scars.

3 Amy left welfare work in 2011 to start a family, she still often thought of the kids. She said, "These kids need something that looks like they do." This idea had always 4 in her mind. 

Then in 2020, a mom whose daughter lost a leg to amputation (截肢) asked Amy, who was 5 with a sewing machine, if she could make a mini-me dol for the girl. 

After Amy 6 a photo of the legless doll on Facebook, 7 poured in for likeness with everything from albinism (白化病) to birthmarks. " 8 make kids feel isolated and judged," she says, "With the doll, a child sees ‘I am not the only one who looks this way and I'm also 9 enough to be a doll.' "

Amy 10 nearly 400 custom dolls at her dining-room table, with donors often covering the 100 cost through Amy's nonprofit A Doll Like Me. The mom of three 11 making each doll herself with help from her mother and a friend. 

For Keagan. 2, whose rare skin condition has 12 him in birthmarks, Amy matched the doll's 13 exactly. "That was the most amazing thing," says Keagan's mom. A farther says, "I 14 like a baby when a doll came in the mail for my daughter, who was born without her lower left arm. Seeing my daughter with her doll, it makes me think about her future, not her 15 ."

One hot July day, three police officers went into a market to get something cool to drink. Once inside, they were 1 by a security guard (保安人员) to help with a 2 woman. The woman in question was obviously 3 , and her face was wet with tears. The officers looked inside her bag. All they saw were packets of 4 .

"I'm hungry," she explained5 . Caught in the act, the woman no doubt expected to be treated as a6 . But the police officers had other 7 . "We'll pay for her food," one of them said to the 8 security guard, "She would not be9 ."

"Thank you! Thank you!" the woman repeated, 10 her wet face. She was not the only one touched by this act of 11 . Customers at the store were so impressed by what they had12 that some even posted a photo online13 , attention was never what the officers tried to get. They were 14 by a far more common emotion.'

When we look at someone's face and see that they need you, it's pretty15 as a human being to walk away from something like this.
