Wisdom(智慧) won't come by itself
A young prince had just recently become King. Therefore, he gathered all the wise men from his kingdom and abroad and ordered them to look for books for him to read and learn from. Five years passed quickly. The wise men returned with their camels, carrying 5, 000books full of wisdom. Seeing so many books, the king was so shocked that he didn't know how to start. Another five years passed. The wise men again went to see the king, this time bringing 500 books, but the king still thought there were too many.
At this time, the king was troubled with many problems, but he still felt there were too many books.
During the next few years, the wise men worked hard to condense(精简) the 50 books into one book and presented it to the king. More problems broke out in his kingdom——his enemies endlessly(无休止地)attacked and diseases affected his people. He did not have the wisdom to solve these problems. Finally, the king was killed by a ruler in the neighbor country.
Waiting for wisdom to come to you is a way of being lazy. Only if we set out to find out wisdom can we make a difference.

People have told stories about Robin Hood for over 700 years. Nobody knows if he was a real person or an invented character. In the legends, Robin was extremely smart and humorous; he helped strangers, and later his kindness paid off.
The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood was about a young man, who was good at archery(射箭术). One day he was walking through Sherwood Forest, a royal hunting forest near Nottingham in England. There he got into trouble with a group of men. Among them, he killed the cousin of the Sheriff(郡长) of Nottingham. Robin became a legendary(大名鼎鼎的)outlaw, and soon the leader of more than one hundred outlaws, known as his"Merry Men".
Robin and his"Merry Men"always looked for rich people and asked them to their camp in Sherwood Forest. When they arrived, Robin gave them a good meal and played music for them. Then he took their gold away to help the poor. Robin became most famous for"robbing from the rich and giving to the poor".
The Sheriff of Nottingham was Robin's greatest enemy. He was cruel and treated the poor badly. It was his job to keep the woods safe and to make sure that nobody stole the king's deer. He hated Robin because Robin was an outlaw. But most of all, he hated Robin because everyone else loved him. The Sheriff of Nottingham kept trying to catch Robin Hood and his "Merry Men", but never succeeded.
① Robin became the leader of a group of outlaws.
② Robin asked the rich people to Sherwood Forest.
③ Robin killed the cousin of the Sheriff of Nottingham.
④ Robin gave poor people the gold he took away from the rich.
① Isn't it amazing how you can hear or read a story a hundred times and yet when you hear it again you learn something new? That happened to me recently when I reread the story below.
② In the Middle Ages, a man traveled to a city where they were building a new church in the square. He saw many people working on the great new building. He walked up to a strong man cutting rock and asked him what he was doing. "I am a stone mason(石匠), " the man said. "I spend all my days cutting and shaping stones. "
③Th e traveler then walked over to a man sawing(锯) a beam high above him and called out the same question to him. "I am a carpenter(木匠), "the man called back. "I spend my days cutting and hammering(锤)wood. ④ Finally, the man walked into the church. Deep inside the church walls, thè traveler saw an old woman sweeping the floor while she was singing happily to herself. He asked her what she was doing. "I am building a great church, " she said.
⑤I always read that story with a smile on my face. I saw it as a lesson in taking pride in your work and seeing the value in your job. But this time I felt something deeper in my heart. My mind cleared and I saw there was an even deeper meaning to this story. It wasn't only about how you feel about your job but also about how you live your life. Each one of our lives here is a church. Each choice we make is a stone we lay. Each act of kindness we do is a beam we hammer into place. Each moment of love we create builds it up higher and more beautiful.

Zhuge Liang asked his soldiers to fill 20 large boats with many straw men. On the early morning of the third day, he asked the soldiers to sail the boats to the camps of Cao Cao's army on the other side of the river. ▲
When Cao Cao's soldiers heard the sounds, they thought they were under attack. However, they could not see through the thick fog on the river. Cao Cao ordered his soldiers to shoot towards the sounds of the drums and the shouting. Zhuge Liang's boats were soon full of arrows.
Zhuge Liang's soldiers then turned the boats around and shouted, "Thank you for your arrows, Cao Cao. "Zhuge Liang took all these arrows to Zhou Yu. There were more than 100, 000 of them.

The monkey disagreed, "Look, how fast I can run and climb! Can you?"
At last they asked a wise tiger, "Which is better—to be strong or to be quick?"
The tiger said, "Go across the river and pick the fruit on that tree for me, then I can tell. "
So they went to the river, but the water ran fast and the monkey was afraid.
