If you were interested in seek-and-find books during the 1980s and 1990s, you would certainly remember Waldo. Or maybe you know him as Wally. Waldo is the character of Where's Waldo? a series of children's puzzle books. The Where's Waldo? Book series has sold millions of copies worldwide. They are for kids, letting their imagination run wild. However, a lot of adults show deep interest in them and are excited about looking for the global(全球的) traveler in order to pass the time.
The character was first introduced by Martin Handford in the UK in 1987. Over the last 30 years, Waldo has traveled all over the world, and even to space. Usually, it's difficult to find him. _____▲_____ But everything changed in 2020. Because of COVID-19, Waldo can no longer freely travel around the world as he used to.
Cartoonists Martin Hand ford and Clay Bennett teamed up and created a coronavirus edition of Where's Waldo? For the first time, it became easy to find Waldo.
In one picture, Waldo is walking across an empty beach alone. In another, he is standing in a field, surrounded (围绕)by grass, trees, and nobody else. It's normal (正常的) to feel terrible when things don't go as well as we (期盼). When we work really hard to make something perfect, any mistake upsets us. However, (而不是) feeling unhappy, we should learn from our mistakes and improve ourselves. It was a (遗憾)that you didn't win, but you can (考虑)this as a lesson. It seems that you need to practise more. So, perhaps you can be a (志愿者) in some public places. For example, you can work as a guide in the museum during the holidays. Or you can take part in some activities in the (社区) centre. This way, giving a talk in front of the crowd won't be difficult for you. In the end, remember that working even (更努力地) will allow you to return to that stage (舞台) and show everyone how excellent you are.
