Everything you see around you was once nothing more than an idea in someone else's head. So, if you think you've got a genius idea, be prepared to start inventing things and get to market them. It's not as hard as you think!

The best part about inventing new things is finding out which of your problems, or other people's problems you'd most like to solve. If you can find a problem that hasn't been solved, or a way to solve a problem better, you've hit upon something you may want to achieve,

You need to find out if there are people willing to buy your product, if someone else is making or selling similar products and if your product can beat all others.

This is why you need to write down everything you can think of that relates to (与……有关) your invention, from what it is and how it works to how you will make and market it. This is the. first step in patenting (获得专利权)your idea and keeping it from being stolen.

You can't just say you have invented something useful if you don't have a prototype (雏形). At this beginning stage, don't spend too much money. Driven by his love for animals, Zhang studied photography at Nottingham Trent University in the UK, (尽管)his family weren't pleased with his decision. ""They don't think being a pet photographer meets their (标准)for a good job, "he said.

The word photography was first used in 1839. However, at that time the subject had to keep still (静止的) while it was taken a photo of. Few people had ever tried to take photos of moving subjects. The first man to do so was Eadweard Muybridge, a world-famous photographer. He created the first moving picture.

In 1878, after years of experiments, Muybridge got what he wanted. He had a sequence (连续)of 12images(图像), and one of them clearly showed all four of the horse's hooves were off the ground at the same time. In the end Muybridge collected his well-earned $ 25, 000 from Stanford.

Though Thomas Edison is usually considered as the person who created the first movie in 1889, it was the work of Eadweard Muybridge and the bet that led to Edison's invention.
