I used to tests all the time.

    Are you the only child in the family? If so, you are the most in your family. are the closest people to you in the world. But a lot of middle school students have a problem. They feel they're not as to their parents as before. They even don't think their parents are fair (公平的)to them.  

    Some students complain that their parents say a lot to them, but never to them. Some say their parents don't allow them to play computer games other classmates are doing that. Others say when they're phone calls to friends, their parents like to ask if they're speaking to a boy or a girl. These make them very . Some students even decide to leave home because they're afraid to tell their parents when they have done something wrong, when they do badly in exams. Then they usually think running away is the only choice. But they don't know running away may bring them some more problems.

    Problems are parts of life. Here are some for you to solve your problems.

    ①Find a good chance to talk with your parents. Don't be afraid to tell them your feelings.

    ②Get help from  like good friends or teachers.  

    ③Keep a diary to help you understand more about yourself and your feelings.

    ④Show your parents you are growing up. Then they'll feel you're no longer a small child.

    If you follow the advice, you'll have a happy life and never think of running away.

    Do you know Mike, my best friend? Maybe you will say, "Yes, I know him very well. He is very 1. He never studies hard and isn't good at all the subjects." But you are wrong. It seems that he has 2a lot. He didn't use to like to study. But now he works 3 hard. In the past, he used to watch TV and play computer games very late at night. He used to get up at eight o'clock in the morning and hurry to school 4 breakfast. At school, he didn't use to listen to the teachers 5. He didn't use to do his homework. He always copied 6 papers in the tests. But now he doesn't come to school late. He gets up very early and goes to 7. He says that he must 8 his health. He walks to school after breakfast. At school, he often studies with a group and asks other students for help when he has 9. His classmates usually help him with homework. He has made great 10 this term and he got an A in a test last week.  

    Tyler was a troublesome student. He sat in the back row. Every time I called him to answer questions, he'd reply with a flip(轻率的)answer. If he got it wrong, he would get very angry.

    Usually kids could sit quietly in class. However, Tyler was just loud. One day, Tyler was talking while I was teaching. I said to him, "Tyler, why not join in our discussion instead of having one of your own?" He got up from his chair, pushed it over, and shouted something I can't remember. I sent him to the office and he received a week's out-of-school punishment.

    The week was a wonderful time for me, but when it came to an end, I began to feel worried. So I came up with a plan. On the day of his return, I told him I wanted to start over with him. If he felt like he was going to lose control in class, he could step outside the door for a moment.

    From then on, Tyler was a changed student in my classroom. In fact he was a smart child and he even stopped a fight between two students one day. And he never used the privilege(特权)to leave the class for a moment. I believe that just letting him decide for himself made all the difference.

    When the year was over, he wrote me a thank-you note about how good the year had been for him. I still have it today and find it very moving to reread when I get stressed about teaching.
