Julie grew in Guangzhou. Last year, she moved to Harbin. She also experienced the heavy snow there. 

It was Sunday yesterday. In the afternoon,there was a strong wind and   were getting together in the sky. It seemed there would be a heavy snow.

At around seven o'clock,it to snow. At first, it snowed lightly. Then it snowed heavily. At ten o'clock,Julie went to bed. She couldn't sleep for about two hours. She was thinking about the snow."A snowstorm is coming,"she said to  .Suddenly, a strong wind blew and the windows were broken. The floor was full of glass. Julie lived so there was no one to help. What great trouble she was in!

Julie had to call the police. When the police arrived,they helped Julie to repair the windows. And luckily,the snow wasn't so heavy as Julie expected. It soon stopped completely.

The lion dance holds a special place in the hearts of people in Guangdong Province. In history, it was a men's art only. However, the Nanxing Hexingtang Women's Lion Dance Team from Renhe Town, Guangzhou, broke the tradition with an all-girl team.

Coach Zhang saw the number of young lion dancers going down and he had a creative idea. He started to train girls in 2018. Girl dancers met some difficulties at first. However, Zhang and another coach, Coach Yu, didn't give up their idea to set up an all-girl lion dance team. They finally found girl dancers and trained them hard.

Their hard work paid off when the girls won their first big award (奖项) over the men's teams in 2021. They had more wins and this made them respected in the lion dance community. Today, the team has over 20 girls aged 7 to 19.

The team's success isn't just about winning awards, but about breaking bias (偏见). More girls start to learn lion dance because of them.

Sometimes, traditions should not only be passed on but also improved in the new times.

One day, a young painter passed by a garden. He was deeply attracted (吸引) by the beautiful flowers in the garden. An old gardener was working there, but suddenly the young painter found the old gardener was blind.

"Wow, your flowers are so beautiful. Do you need a favour?" the young painter asked.

"No, thanks. I have planted flowers for years. And it's part of my life." the old gardener smiled.

"But you can't see the flowers. Why do you keep doing that?" said the young painter.

"Although I can't see them, I can touch them and smell the sweetness." the old gardener said, "And it's also for you."

"For me? But you don't know me," said the painter.

"Yes, I don't know you. But I know many people like you will stop here. The beauty of my flowers will make them happy," said the old gardener.

The two men had a wonderful conversation and shared the beauty together. The beauty is what we can see and what we can feel.

In the afternoon, Leo played basketball in the living room. Suddenly, his basketball hit a vase(花瓶). The vase 1 on the floor and was broken. Leo was so worried about that. To cover the 2 , he glued the pieces together and put the vase back.

Then Mark puts money into the dog's mouth and the dog walks out. After ten minutes, the dog doesn't come back. After an hour, the dog still doesn't come back.

"How much money do you give the dog?" asks Jeff.

"Five yuan."

"Well, if it has five yuan, it will go to the movies." says Jeff.

What do you usually do on Saturday? I usually go to Michael's Farm(农场) to see my grandfather and my cousins on Saturday. Michael is just my grandfather's name. 

It's far from my home to Michael's Farm. This Saturday, my friends Eric and Jim go there with me. At 10:00 a.m., we start off by bike. We take a lot of food and drinks with us because we want to have lunch on our way to the farm. First, we ride on Blue Road for one and a half hours. Next, we have lunch under a tree near a crossing. After lunch, we turn left at the crossing and ride on Sky Road for another(再一的) hour to get to my grandfather's farm. Along the way, we are tired(疲劳的) but happy. 

My grandfather lives in a big farmhouse. He is very happy to see us. We help him water vegetables, feed(喂) animals and do some cleaning. We play games with my cousins, my grandfather cooks lots of food for us. 

We have a good time with my grandfather and my cousins on Michael's Farm. The next morning, we ride back home.

At Harbin Ice and Snow World, the ice-and-snow theme park in Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, tourists gathered  (count) down toward 2024, with more than 1,000 ice and snow sculptures around.

Besides the ice-and-snow sculptures, a lot of winter activities were there for visitors to enjoy. Skiing was one of the  (popular) activities. Many people would wait for two to three hours for these activities.

What's more, bicycles on ice and hot air balloons allowed visitors to enjoy the magic world from above. When the night  (fall), the ice sculptures looked bright in different colors, and live music and DJs added more to the colorful ice and snow world, where  (thousand) of visitors danced to the music together.

During this tourism boom, many visitors felt the warmth of local people. Local government provided hot tea  free to keep visitors warm. Many drivers also volunteered to drive around the city to pick up tourists and give  free rides.

Yu Jingjing is a security guard (保安) at a children's hospital in Dalian,Liaoning province. He has been working for three years at the 1 . Recently he has become 2 on the Internet and people call him "Toy Hero". How does he get the name?
