My daughter brought a note home. I looked at the note and smiled.
"So we will have a recycling centre," I said. She started to explain why it was important to recycle." I know," I said," I don't have time.
She thought of a way to recycle. She put a bag in the kitchen. She said it would be for plastic. Then once month we would take the plastic to the Recycle Centre. She said that plastic was (harm) to the environment when people threw it out.
It seemed like a good idea. But soon the bag got full. In one week we had filled it with empty plastic (bottle). My daughter said we were using too much plastic. So we looked for ways to use (little) plastic.
I told my neighbour about this. She liked the idea. She started (keep) her plastic in a bag. We all went together to the Recycle Centre. When we (arrive) there, we saw many bags. People had brought lots of rubbish. They brought paper and metal, too." Now that we have this centre, is easier to recycle," said my neighbour.
When we were walking back the Recycle Centre, I saw a change. The street was (clean) than before. My daughter said another class had picked up litter there and taken it to the Recycle Centre.
This is really big. It is about more than plastic. It is about lots of changes.

New research shows that there will still be about 710 million metric tons of plastic by 2040 even if the whole world takes action now. That means a heavy build-up of plastic around the world. A rapid growth in plastic production has made the problem worse. And many countries fail to safely deal with or recycle plastic waste.
Millions of tons of plastic enter the oceans every year, polluting the seas, messing beaches and endangering wildlife. Plastic particles (颗粒) have been found in soil, in the air and even in the most far-away areas of the earth. Some plastic is eaten by fish and other sea animals, and then they enter the food chain (食物链).
Researchers found that there are no short cuts to cutting down on plastic pollution. Instead, change is needed across the whole chain, from the production of plastic to after-use (recycling and reusing), to stop the spread of plastic pollution.
"There are billions of people without collection services right now. You can't recycle or deal with something you haven't collected," said Dr Winnie Lau, co-author of the research. In many developing countries such as India, waste pickers make a living by collecting plastic and actually their work is a key part of being able to solve this problem. However, most people just ignore their great influence.
The Green City, the Healthy Life
As a citizen, it's our duty to help build a green city so that we can live a life. But how can we help do it?
It's known to us all that we can reduce air pollution by bicycles. It's better for us to sort the rubbish and it into the correct rubbish bin. In this way, we can keep our city . And we'd better plant more flowers, grass or trees to beautify our living environment.
In my opinion, I'll do my best to our city cleaner and more beautiful. Firstly, I can water by taking shorter showers.
Secondly, I should save energy by the lights when I leave the room. In a word, everyone can to make a difference to our city and the environment.
