It was a Friday evening. I was waiting at the bus stop after school when a car stopped and the driver opened the door. It was my1 . "Quickly, get in!" he said to me. I was very2 , but I did as he said.

At first, I was worried that something3 happened. Then, I noticed my mother. She was also4 the car and on the back seat. There were some bags of clothes and5 food. My father was driving the car, but he was not driving6 . He7 out of the town. "Where are we going?" I asked.

It was a warm evening and lots of people were walking8 the road. It was the9 day of the term. Did my parents have a big surprise for10 ? We were going somewhere special—11 where? The next thing I can remember is falling12 . When I13 , I saw the sea. We were at the14 . My father was smiling. "Here we are," he said. "The summer holiday15 now!"

Ben could hear strong winds outside his home in Alabama. With no light outside, it felt like midnight. The news on TV reported that a heavy rainstorm was in the area. 

 Ben's dad was putting pieces of wood over the windows while his mom was making sure the flashlights and radio were working. She also put some candles and matches on the table. 

Ben was helping his mom make dinner when the rain began to beat heavily against the windows. However, it was hard to have fun with a serious storm happening outside. 

Ben could not sleep at first. He finally fell asleep when the wind was dying down at around 3: 00 a. m. He went outside with his family and found the neighborhood in a mess. Fallen trees, broken windows and rubbish were everywhere. Some neighbors were busy cleaning the neighborhood. Although the storm broke many things apart, it brought families and neighbors closer together. 
 

One day a poor farmer was taking a bag of rice to town. Suddenly the bag fell off his horse on the road. He didn't know what to do about it because it was too heavy for him to lift by himself. He only hoped that somebody would soon pass by and help him. 

Just at this moment a man riding a horse came up to him. But the farmer was very disappointed (失望的) when he saw who he was. It was the great man living nearby. The farmer had hoped to ask another farmer or a poor man like him. 

But to his surprise, the great man got off his horse as soon as he came near. He said to the farmer, "I see you need help, friend. How good it is that I'm here just at the right time. " Then he took one end of the bag, the farmer took the other. They together lifted and put it back on the horse.

"Sir," asked the farmer, "how can I pay you?"

"It's quite easy," the great man answered with a smile, "wherever you see anyone else in trouble, do the same for him. "

A: Hi, Cindy! Long time no see. 

B: Hi, John! Yes.

A: How long did you stay there?

B: 

A: How was your trip?

B:  I visited many places. And the most exciting place was Disneyland. 

A: Were there many people in Disneyland?

B: Yes. It was crowded.

A: Did you take any pictures with them?

B: 

A: Wow! Wonderful!I hope I can go there one day. 

B: If you do, you'll certainly enjoy yourself.
