Darius didn't like talking with others, and he always sat alone in (沉默). Many people thought he was (奇特的). But he was helpful. (最近), Darius made clothes to help homeless pets to find new homes. His love for them (开始) at a very early age.
When he was two, he wasn't able to speak or do any simple things as other two-year-old (小孩) could. His mother and sister (认识到) that they should try to help him. "We came up with the idea that if he helped us with small things, it would help him. And we were (完全地) (震惊的) because it worked!" his sister said.
Darius began giving clothes away to animal shelters when he was a (学生). Later Darius became famous for helping countless homeless pets. And his stories were also (报道) in the news.
Megi is in the ninth grade and she loves to write and draw. The girl had to stay at home during the lockdown because of a kind of disease. She felt quite lonely because the only way of communicating with others was talking on the phone.
This isn't the first time that Megi has faced a big disaster(灾难). In November 2019, the earthquake (地震) in Albania left behind a lot of fear for teenagers like Megi. After the earthquake, the teachers comforted the students and taught them how to protect (保护) themselves in similar situations. "In those moments, the most important thing was to stay close to each other and provide help," said Megi.
Unluckily, the disease broke out and brought more fear to these children before they recovered(恢复) from the earthquake completely.
When Megi returned to school after the lockdown ended, she and other teenagers worked together on the "React, Save Lives" activity. They took on the difficulties and helped one another. Megi organized sports activities between classes so that the students could spend time together. She also created a school newsletter to provide the latest information. What was more, Megi shared some tips on how to fight against the disease. "These activities are very helpful for all because being prepared plays a bigger role when natural events often take place," said Megi.
Now, Megi and her classmates can better face the future because they are ready to help each other. And they know they can depend on one another to get through hard times.
