It was a terrible day for Mr. and Mrs. Lin. The two were on holiday on a mountain. They were taking a walk in the early afternoon when suddenly the ground started to shake. In just two minutes, everything was different! They were in the middle of a very strong earthquake(地震)!

The Lins tried to find some other people first. One by one, they found 23 other people. Many were visitors, young and old. Soon it was dark and it started to rain heavily. Some cried and some lost hope.

At that point, Mr. Lin decided to do something. He said, "The roads are too dangerous. We can't go down the mountain until tomorrow. We must stay here tonight." Then Mr. Lin and a few young men went back to look for food. They found some, but not enough for everyone. The young people gave theirs to the older ones.

After that, Mr. Lin divided(分开) the people into five groups. He also brought all the mobile phones and made sure each group had one. They used them as flashlights(手电筒).

Early the next morning, the groups started to go down the mountain. It was difficult,   ▲  . After twelve hours' walking, they finally got out safely. By then it was 30 hours after the earthquake. Everyone was tired but they felt lucky because they were part of a special team. This special team gave them hope for life.

I'm Gina, an eighth-grade student. Most of the students in my class like P. E. very much. Now let me tell you  happened in our P. E. class last week.

Last Wednesday afternoon, we (have) a P. E. class when it began to rain all of a sudden. The rain was so hard  we ran to our classroom quickly. Do you want to know what we were doing when 

rain came? I remember Susan was playing tennis with Lisa. Several (boy) were playing basketball with our P. E. teacher. Was Jim playing basketball, too? No, he was sitting under a tree by (he). When I went up to him, I found he looked unhappy. I tried to cheer him . He told me he had a lot of pressure from his studies. Also, he (argue) with his elder brother that morning. What was Grace doing at that time? Oh! She was playing volleyball with other girls. She felt (excite) at that time.

The rain caused us (have) the P. E. class in the classroom. What a bad day!

This story happened in a small mountain village. One day a very big rock fell down from a nearby mountain and 1 in the middle of the road. Many people came to the road and talked about the 2 rock. Some of the 3 men tried to move it away but failed (失败). They tried to move it with ropes but it still didn't 4 .

There was 5 they could do about it. They had to change the road. At that time, a boy of 12 said, "I think I can help move the rock." "You?" they shouted. "What are you talking about?" The men all 6 the boy.

The next morning some people came into the road. "The rock has 7 !" one of them shouted. More people ran out to see. It was 8 . The rock wasn't in the road anymore. It wasn't 9 near the road. The boy stood in the road smiling. "I told you I 10 move it last night. Now you can't see it, can you?" he said.

When a small boy and his father were walking in the countryside, it  (突然) began to rain 

 (大量地). They didn't have  (雨伞) with them and there was no place to hide (隐藏), so they  (开始变得) wet. The small boy (觉得) sad. For a long time, while they were  (行走) home through the rain, the boy was thinking. Then at last, he turned to his father and asked, "Why does it rain, Dad? It's not very nice, is it?" "No, but it's very useful," said his father. "It (下雨) to make the fruit and vegetables (生长) for us." The boy  (思考) about this for a moment and then said, "Then, (为什么) does it rain on the road, too, Dad?"
