What do you think life will be like in 2050? Some students are talking about it on the Internet.
Julia: In 2050, there won't be enough water. Some places will be drier and people will not be able to have enough food. There may be serious water and food shortages.
Ashley: Don't be so pessimistic about that, Julia! People will solve these problems. And I think there will be less water pollution. Water will be much cleaner than it is now. .
Linkin: I quite agree with Ashley. And I believe in 2050 doctors will be able to help blind and deaf people see and hear again. All the people will be healthy because they will take a kind of special medicine when they are born.
What will happen in the future? Perhaps we won't use paper to write . We can study on computers. And there will be fewer cars and (little) pollution. Everyone will play part in saving the earth. The sea will be cleaner and the sky will be bluer. So the environment will get better better.
I believe people will even have.( robot ) in their homes. They can help with housework. Of course, there are already robots(work) in factories now. They do simple jobs over and over again. And they will never get (bore).
People will be able (fly) to the moon for a holiday. Perhaps people will live a space station one day. However, some people disagree. They think it is impossible for humans (live) in space.

Dear Peter,
Thank you for your e- mail. The New Year is coming. Let me tell you my New Year's resolutions.
Yours,
Tony
Dear Alice, My dream job is to be a singer, but my parents don't agree with me. They don't understand how I feel when I sing on the stage. They even didn't let me take part in the singing competition last summer. They asked me to take after-school classes. I was really angry. What should I do? Could you please give me some advice? Sally |
Dear Sally, To be a professional singer is very difficult. I'm not saying that you can't do well in it, but it's important to be realistic. If you really want to try, you should go to a good singing school in your free time and start learning. Then you should try your best to practice, and then you'll be close to success. Talk to your parents and tell them what you really like to do. I think they will understand you. Don't be angry. They love you and want the best for you. Good luck to you! Alice |
