A man cut a lot of firewood in the hills and put it on his cart. He was smoking his pipe on his way home.

The sparks from the pipe set fire to the firewood. When he looked back, the man was shocked to find that the firewood was on fire. He jumped off the cart at once.

"What can I do?" "the man asked himself. Just then, he saw a cup on the ground and picked it up. He quickly ran down the hill and soon came back with a cup of water. He poured the water on the fire.

However, the fire was getting stronger and stronger. At last, all the firewood was burned out. The man was very sad. A passer-by heard his story and said, "How can you put out the fire with a cup of water? You were just making useless efforts. You should choose a right way to deal with a problem."

In 1987, a small company named Huawei was started in Shenzhen. After more than 30 years' development, the company has now beaten Apple and become the world's second-largest maker of smartphones behind Korea's Samsung. It has also become the world's largest supplier(供应商) of 5G.

But recently, Huawei faced some difficulties. The U.S. government ordered a ban (禁令) on its sales in America. American officials said Huawei gave information that it collected to the Chinese government. At the same time, the U. S. government planned to stop selling parts and services to Huawei, which was believed that Huawei's business would be hurt.

"We have never received such a request(要求) from the Chinese government and we have never tried to get into other systems to collect information." Ren Zhengfei, Huawei's founder and president said. "This ban from the U.S. would do little to our company. Huawei has enough ability to deal with the problems." Ren added.

In an interview several years ago, Ren Zhengfei said, "I started Huawei with only 4,000 at the beginning, but now it has become a $100 billion company. The experience was not as romantic as you think."

Facing the ban of the U.S., Huawei is growing. Huawei's smartphone sales around the world rose50 percent compared to a year earlier. At the same time, sales from both Samsung and Apple fell. So far, Huawei has grown into the world's largest telecommunications equipment (电信设备) supplier, selling in 170 countries! It may beat Samsung as the largest smartphone maker in the near future.

2020 national drama tour to kick off in Beijing

The 2020 national drama tour kicked off on Dec. 12 in Beijing. The opening drama was Shangganling, also known as The Battle of Triangle Hill. It came to the stage at the Beijing Poly Theatre on Dec. 12 and 13.

A total of 22 dramas will be performed in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Nanjing and Shenzhen till the end of January.

During the tour, a forum (论坛) discussing topics including challenges under the COVID-19 pandemic for drama development will be held in early January.

The tour was co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Dongcheng district Party committee and Dongcheng district government. Started in 2017, the tour has to date seen 70 dramas performed in total.
