        Do you know something about Save the Children? It is a program to help children all over the world. It started in May 1919 in England. Its job was to protect the rights(权利) of children. By the end of the First World War, Save the Children had helped children in Germany, Austria, France and so on. In 1921 in Russia, Save the Children fed 650,000 people.

        In the 1930s, Save the Children worked outside Europe. It set up a school in Africa in 1936. It also set up the Child Protection Committee for the rights of children in Africa and Asia. By the autumn of 1946, Save the Children had 105 workers. They helped children in Europe. They saved lives in emergencies(紧急情况).They protected and supported children in need.
