I live in a beautiful city. Many visitors come to my city every year because there are so many colorful peacocks here.

The peacocks mostly live on the grassland of Dongfeng Square. Visitors usually throw food to them but they don't think about at all whether the food is good or not. Some of the peacocks became ill, and some even died after eating the bad food given by visitors.

I'm sure most of the visitors who throw food to the peacocks really like the birds, but they don't realize that they may be doing them harm. Visitors should be told that what they have done is harmful to the birds, and this kind of thing must be stopped.

Perhaps we can build some small shops beside Dongfeng Square to sell peacock food. For us every person, it's our duty to give more love to these beautiful birds and to look after them carefully.

Usually we all go to a store to buy something we need. But today we always want to buy something new or something special through the information from advertising and sometimes from TV show. It's quite different from the past.

In fact, people have been advertising for thousands of years. Long ago, some men called criers（叫卖人）walked up and down the street. They shouted about things that were being sold.

Later, people met at one place. This place was a market. Some people came to sell. Other people came to buy. But only those people who were at the market knew what were being sold. When people learned about printing, things changed. Soon there were newspapers. Many people read the newspapers. They saw many ads in the papers.

Later more people saw and listened to the ads on TV.

What do you think a hero is like? Maybe you think he is handsome, rich or very smart. But I think heroes are around us, a hero is a person who always helps others. My hero is Uncle Bill. He was a poor worker twenty years ago, but he never gave up. And now he is a successful businessman.

When Uncle Bill was young, he was good at neither writing nor maths, In fact, he never did well at school. He had to stop school and began to work in a factory. He worked hard and gave all his money to help his parents. When he was older, he found that he was very interested in fixing things. He collected broken things which people threw away and fixed them into good ones.
