Many years ago, I went to work in Japan. My new colleagues(同事) were all very 1 and helped me a lot. After a week's 2 , we decided to eat out together. They took me to a 3 and told me that it was quite popular(受欢迎的).
Before dinner, my colleagues taught 4 to use the chopsticks(筷子). It was 5 for me at first. After all, as a man who was born and lived in England, I didn't 6 see any chopsticks. 7 after some practice(练习), I could use them well. I felt quite happy and 8 . But next, I did some 9 things at table.
During the dinner, I had to 10 to go to the bathroom(厕所), so I stuck(插) my chopsticks in my bowl of rice, At the time, the colleague next to me said,"No, please don't do that. It's very rude(粗鲁的) in Japan. Just 11 your chopsticks on the table. " I felt 12 and did as he told me.
When I returned, I noticed there were some little bowls of 13 on the table. I 14 one bowl and started to drink. Then I found others were all looking at me."The tea is not for 15 ," one of my colleagues said. "It's for washing your fingers(手指)."
