Su Shi, one of the most popular ancient writers, was born in Meishan, Sichuan Province. He was good at almost all kinds of writings and art. When he was young, he became an official(官员). Sadly, Su was punished to serve in faraway areas. But he didn't lose courage. First, he went to Huangzhou. There, he tried to enjoy life in the countryside. He farmed a piece of land which he called"Dongpo (东坡)".▲It's said that he also invented Dongpo Pork, a famous Chinese dish during this period. Many of his best poems were written there too, including"Tune: Calming the Waves(《定风波》)". Its line"Impervious to wind, rain or shine, I'll have my will. (归去! 也无风雨也无晴。)"showed his open-minded attitude. Later, he went to Hangzhou. He finished building Su Causeway(苏堤) there.
Then, he worked in Danzhou. At the beginning, he couldn't get used to the hot, wet weather. He also couldn't understand the local language. Then he set up schools and many people travelled far away to visit him.
Grayson sat alone on the bus ride from school to home. He didn't want to talk to his friends or anybody else. They were talking about their homework for the weekend and they were happy because their parents would help them. But Grayson's parents were always busy.

Andrea is an American writer. She has written more than 20 books, including her latest collection of poems, Martin Rising: Requiem for a King.
Reporter: What inspired(激励) you to become a writer?
Andrea: When I was in the second grade, my dad got me a notebook. He said if I had a thought, I could just write it down. He said it didn't have to be perfect. So that's where it started. Then, when I was in the sixth grade, there was a writing competition at my school. My teacher entered(为……报名参加) me for the competition, I wrote a story about a man made of fire. It was a mess, but my story won. I felt good.
Reporter: What were some of your favourite books when you were a kid?
Andrea: One was The Snowy Day. That was really the first mainstream(主流的) book to have an African-American kid as the main character. I loved Peter, and this kid looked just like me. I loved that book.

As is known to all, Confucius(孔子) was one of the greatest Chinese teachers in history. Here is more information about him.
He was born over 2,000 years ago and lived in the Kingdom of Lu(鲁国), part of today's Shandong Province. He lived during the Spring and Autumn Period(春秋时期). His childhood was sad. His father died when he was only three years old and he had to work to help his mother. But young Confucius didn't give up(放弃) studying.
He visited many famous teachers and learned music, history, poetry(诗歌) and sports. Later, he became a teacher and started the first public school in Chinese history. It was lunchtime. Ruth and Bonnie sat for lunch. Ruth was too hungry. She ate two (hamburger) in one go. Bonnie picked up her hamburger she didn't eat, and her eyes (be) red.
