The best time to collect green leaves is early in the leafing season but not so early. The months of June and July provide the best leaf samples(样品), but you can find great leaf samples throughout the summer. To make a fall colour collection, you have to collect the leaves in autumn.
I have seen many beautiful fall colour collections.
When you choose leaves for your samples, try to choose leaves of about the same size and shape on the tree. Make sure you collect the entire (完整的) leaves.
Remember, some leaves have only one blade(叶片)or leaflet (小叶). Some leaves have a few or many leaflets. You must know these two kinds of leaves. Good leaf collections include the entire leaves.
You should dry the collected leaves carefully before putting them in a leaf press(压). When you collect leaves in the field, you can put them between the pages of book to protect them. And then, press them as soon as possible before you take them from this book. Finally, you should write down each leaf's name and put them in a leaf press.
Almost everyone has some kinds of hobbies : it may be something from collecting (邮票) to making (模型)planes. Some hobbies are very expensive, but the others don't cost anything at all. Some collections are worth much money and the others are (有价值的)only to their owners.
I know a man who has a (硬币) collection worth several thousand (美元). A short time ago, he bought a rare (罕见的) fifty-cent piece which cost him $ 250!He was very happy about this collection and thought the price was all right. On the other hand, my ten-year-old brother collects (扇子). He collected them at an early age. He has almost 600 of them and puts them on the (架子)in the bedroom, but l wonder if they are worth any money. However, to my brother they are quite important. Nothing else makes him happier than to find a new one for his collection.
That's what a hobby means, I think. It is (某事) we like to do in our free time (只是)for the fun of it. The (价值)in dollars is not important, but the pleasure it gives us.
Many children like collecting stamps. Stamp (collect) didn't begin until 1854. time goes on, there are more and more kinds of stamps. The (stamp) are very beautiful and interesting. There (be) many wonderful pictures on them.
There are more stamp collectors. Not only children but men and women collect stamps. In 1921, Americans began (sell) all kinds of stamps to the collectors. In some countries, there are even lessons stamp collecting in school. People all over the world are becoming more and more (interest) in stamps. Each picture on a stamp has its (mean). It may be the face of a great leader, a famous scientist or a writer. Perhaps it is a beautiful bird or fish. It may also be interesting place. Every stamp tells us a story.
