In the morning, we went camping along a path in Green Natural Park. We were happy because it was a sunny day. We were expecting an enjoyable two-day holiday. On the way, we kept singing and making jokes.
However, in the afternoon, when we finished our picnic at one o'clock, it was dark and windy. Soon, there was a shower. Unluckily, none of us brought an umbrella. We ran about but we could not find any place to hide.
Twenty minutes passed and it was still raining. There were hours to go before we reached the campsite (野营地). It was even worse that our small compass (指南针) showed that we went the wrong way. We lost our way! We had to make a quick decision because it was raining heavily. Chris said we could set up a tent to hide in, so Mary and Tom helped to set up the tent. Chris and I tried to make a fire to keep us warm. But we were unable to light the fire, as everything was wet. We dried ourselves, chatted and waited inside the tent. At about five o'clock, it stopped raining. We decided to give up the camping trip because all of us had been very tired.
This camping trip may not be very successful but we know each other better. And the most important thing I learned from this trip is the importance of team spirit.
Have you heard of Confucius? He is one of the greatest (teach) in Chinese history. He lived during the Spring and Autumn Period. He had a hard childhood. His father when he was only 3.His mother brought him up. As a child, he had to work to help his mother, but young Confucius didn't give up(study). He visited many famous teachers and learned music, history, poetry and sports. Later, he became a teacher and started the first private school in (China) history. At that time only children from noble (贵族的) families could go to school, but Confucius believed everyone should go to school if they wanted(learn).
Today, people still follow (Confucius) lessons. He told us that we all have something worthy to be learned. "When I am with three people, one of them must be (good) than me in some areas. I choose their good qualities and follow them." He also taught us that thinking is very important in study. "All study but no (think) makes people puzzled (困惑的)." Confucius is not only a great teacher, but also a famous thinker with wise thoughts about the world and society. His most important teachings are about kindness and good manners. "A person should be strict with(he), but be kind to others." he said.
People use his ideas (help) themselves and society. At present, more than 100 Internet websites are telling people about him, and his ideas have gone far into East and South Asia.
