The Year of Dragon is coming. Among the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac(生肖), the dragon is the  (popular) one. In Chinese culture, the dragon is  symbol of power, luck and success. Many people believe that a person born in the Year of Dragon will be kind, friendly and  (luck).

There are certain traditions at a Chinese New Year celebration. For example, people would give a red envelope, or Hongbao, to  (they) children or grandchildren for good luck in the coming New Year. It is a good way to show love, good (wish) or blessings(祝福). This tradition  (start) more than 2,000 years ago. During the celebration, people can  (easy) see dragon dances and other traditional activities. Most importantly,  some of the family members work and live in different cities, they will all get together to have a family reunion(团圆) dinner.

These years, people show all kinds of things on the Internet—good food, nice clothes, wonderful vacations and so on. Now showing the number of steps is becoming popular. 

People are finding it important to be in good health. To keep healthy many people go to work on foot. When they start walking, they open the step counter (计步器) app on their phones to record how many steps they walk that day. After a day' s walk, some people show the number on WeChat or Weibo. This can make them learn from each other and keep exercising. 

" This helps me to exercise much and keep a good habit," Miss Liu said. " I can also talk about how to keep healthy with my friends on WeChat. We are in the same group to encourage each other to keep exercising. " 

Mr. Wu likes to exercise. But in the past he was kind of lazy and didn' t want to exercise every day. " After I use the step counter app, everything is different. It' s great to exercise with my friends. Sometimes there are prizes for those who walk more steps. I really like it," he said. 

Walking is a relaxing and useful way to exercise. Both the old and the young like it. Recording the steps helps people develop a good habit of walking and showing the number can make people more interested in walking. But don' t take the number too seriously. 

Andrew was a smart boy. He liked doing things in a way that he thought to be clever. But sometimes he made1 choices.

On November 14. 2023. the International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO)(国际民用航空组织) officially recognized China' s Bei Dou Satellite Navigation (卫星导航)System(BDS) as the world level. This makes it one of four global (全球的) satellite navigation systems, along with the United States'  GPS, Russia' s GLONASS and the European Union' s Galileo. 

China started to develop the BDS in 1994. The system came into use in 2000. After 12 years of work. it began serving the Asia-Pacific region. In 2020, with the global use of BDS-3. China has improved the system to provide users with more correct positioning services. making it a valuable tool for more industries(行业), including transportation, agriculture(农业) , and surveying (测量) . 

Now with 59 satellites in its network, the BDS has served more than 1. 5 billion users across the world. Most mobile apps providing maps navigation and shopping services inChina already support the BDS. China' s satellite navigation industry is growing fast. Its value reached more than 500 billion yuan in 2022. That number is expected to double by 2025. In the first half year of 2023, there were about 13. 4million new BDS devices (设备) . Nearly60% were used in transport systems. The rest were used in communication and agriculture. The former made up about 28% and the latter 12%. 

As BDS gets more popular, it is expected to play an increasingly important role in global navigation and positioning services.

The first painter couldn' t sell any of his paintings, and he never achieved what he wanted. And he gave up his dream of perfection finally. 

There is a saying——" Practice makes perfect. " It is used to say that people become better at something if they do it often. For example, if you want to be a good writer. you should write every day. 

But in fact, this saying is not always true. No one is perfect, and looking for perfection often ends in failure(失败). But if we simply do our best and work hard, we can usually succeed in life. So please remember: perfection is not always possible, but that' s okay.
