, other people are against keeping pets because of so many reasons. They think it is very wasteful to spend hundreds of dollars  pets. In their opinion, the money should  (use) to help the poor. Some people are also worried about the illness that pets may bring to them. Pets don't know that people need a quiet environment. so their sounds become the  (big) problem in their lives. 

How different the  (opinion) about pets are! I think keeping pets is  personal habit. But if you can't deal with it well, that will make your neighbors dislike you. 

①Have you ever thought about what's more important, looking fashionable or feeling comfortable? You might have noticed many people choosing style over comfort and some even go to extremes (极端) to follow fashion. But we should remember: being fashionable isn't everything. It's more important to be healthy. 

②Some people believe that they need to be a certain size to look good. So, they start extreme diets (日常饮食)that are not good for their health. They might not eat meals or cat too little, which can make them feel sick. Is it a healthy way to live?

③Also, many girls wear shoes with very high heels. They might think high heels make them look taller. But these shoes can actually hurt their feet and make it hard to walk comfortably, and it can increase risks of falls. Some even wear tight (紧的) clothes that influence blood circulation (循环)，making it hard to breathe. Should we put fashion over comfort and physical health?

④Besides, some boys and girls spend a lot of time and money changing their hair color. The material they use is usually harmful to their health. To make their hair straight or curly, they also use tools that are hot enough to burn their hair. But using these tools too often or at very high temperatures can make the hair dry or even burnt. Is it really worth it to risk our health, spending so much time and money?

⑤So, let's rethink what's really important. Is it fashion or is it our well-being? Clothes or hairstyles don't tell us anything about a person's character. Instead of spending a lot of time choosing clothes, we could use that time to do fun things with friends. And instead of following extreme diets, let's eat properly and exercise regularly. Remember, your worth is not decided by your appearance, but by who you are as a person. 

Smile Train is a charity (慈善团体) that helps the millions of children around the world, who suffer from a facial defect (缺陷). The defect happens when a baby's top lip or mouth doesn't form properly before birth. Eating and drinking is very difficult for these babies. The charity provides free operations, which give these children a new smile, and with it, new hope and a new beginning. 

Children with the defect need all the help. Although many sufferers are accepted by their families, sadly, others are not. In some countries, children with this defect are often abandoned at birth because their parents feel ashamed of them or cannot afford the operations. The good news is that the operation is not hard. It takes less than an hour and costs family nothing. The charity raises money and finds the right medical volunteers to perform the operations. 

A Smile Train doctor from the UK said, "Each child who has the operation is given a second chance at life. After years of staying at home, the children can finally go to school and be happy. Every year I perform hundreds of operations free of cost through Smile Train, Some of the stories I have heard are quite surprising. One newborn baby girl was found abandoned on a train. Luckily for her, she was found and adopted (收养) by a passenger. This lady then heard about Smile Train and brought the baby to our hospital. I did the operation and gave hope to the family. Experienced doctors like me share our skills with local doctors. In this way, we make sure that these operations will always be available. "

How would you feel if someone decided to take away your park? Well that's what's happening in my community. There's a park that some people want to turn into a golf course (高尔夫球场). Let me tell you why I think it's a bad idea. 

First, a park is meant to be for the whole community. Not everyone likes golf, so not everyone will get to use the park. This isn't fair. A community park should have open spaces for everyone to use. 

Second, to make way for the golf course, lots of playground equipment (设施) will have to be moved or knocked down, which is a waste of time and money. It's also a waste of perfectly good equipment. The swings, for example, will probably just end up as litter. 

Third, what about giving young people something to do? Not all kids are crazy about golf. At the moment, the park has a skating place and a playground. These attract lots of kids from the community. If you turn the park into a golf course, these kids won't have anywhere to go and they won't have anything to do. This means that they will stay at home and turn on a video game rather than get some exercise. It also means that they might be out on the street causing trouble. Wouldn't it be better to give them something to do at the park?

Finally, golf is expensive. Building a golf course and maintaining (维护) it costs a lot of money. Who is going to pay to maintain the golf course? What about those people who can't afford to join a golf club? That means that the golf course will only be available to people with lots of money. 

Turning our park into a golf course is a bad idea. I suggest we have a community meeting before plans go any further. 

Travelling by subway can be quite an adventure (冒险). It's hard to find your way in the space filled  people. People run quickly to get a seat. And be  (care) of that girl who is holding a cup of hot coffee. 

To deal with these problems, all  (country) have made rules for subways to follow. The most common one is no eating  drinking on the subway. Many cities in the world have this rule. 

New York City has asked passengers  (take) off the backpacks on the subway. Also, passengers are told not to open  (they) legs wide enough to take up two or even three seats. 

There are some  (interest) rules, too. Paris, France  (suggest) that passengers shouldn't play music too loud through headphones or stare (盯着) at women for  long time. New Delhi, the capital of India has stopped drunk people from  (take) the subway since May, 2013. 

Whether your city has the same rules or not, it's always good to behave (举止) well on the subways. 

Changsha is a city famous for its food and here people spend a lot of time eating. Xiang Cuisine (菜系) is one of the Eight Cuisines in China and has a fine look and a hot taste. Street dining and restaurants in the city make every visitor's mouth hot. From the special snacks (小吃)—Stinky Tofu to the famous Kou Wei Xia (spicy crayfish) at Pozi Street, there are many kinds of delicious food that will not let any visitors down. 

Chairman Mao, who was Hunanese, once said that the more chilies (辣椒) one eats, the braver one becomes. It was a joke but it shows that food can make differences to the spirit of a person. 

Pozi Street is the most popular place among visitors and it is famous for its spicy crayfish (麻辣小龙虾), a popular street food for Changsha people. The crayfishes are lightly cooked in hot water until they turn red. It would take about five minutes. They are then put in cooking oil, with hot chilies, and garlic sauce (大蒜酱) for just thirty seconds when cooking wine (料酒) and some water are added. The crayfishes are then cooked for another fifteen minutes to give them a spicy taste. The dish is spicy and hot and that's Changsha people's favorite!

Besides, there are other delicious foods including chilies with pork, duck dishes, cold dishes, soups, noodles and dumplings. Every evening, a line of restaurants on Pozi Street welcome visitors with bowls of bright-colored (鲜艳的) dishes and no one can say no to them! The crowded street will last (持续) late into the night until about three or even four o'clock!

This is the food culture in Changsha. The people there made mouth-watering (令人垂涎的) food, and the food gives people joy to enjoy their lives in the city.
