My name is Gina. I am a 1 in Sunshine Middle School. This is my classroom. You can 2 a brown desk in the front of the class. Look! We are having an English class. A cup and 3 book are on the teacher's desk. Two white 4 are on it, too. The teachers put some chalks (粉笔) in them.

Thirty yellow desks and 5 are in the classroom. They are the students'. There is a 6 schoolbag on one of the desks. Is it mine? No, it's Lucy's. She likes red. Who is Lucy? She is my 7 . We are in Class One. We often 8 each other on weekends. Lucy has a good friend, Jenny. But Jenny is in Class Two. She lost her pencil box this morning. We must help her to 9 it.

Oh, what are those? They are our baseballs. we always play 10 together. And there are some pictures on the wall. I think my classroom is nice.

Li Hua and Wang Tao are two students of Class 4, Grade 7. They both like sports. Li Hua is a basketball fan. His favorite sport is playing basketball. Yao Ming is his favorite basketball player. He wants to be a basketball player like Yao Ming when he grows up. Li Hua is on the school basketball team now. Every Friday afternoon, Li Hua plays basketball with his classmates after class.

How to build self-confidence（自信）

These tips could help anyone who is trying to build self-confidence. Remember to always love yourself and love others as you love yourself. Try not to be so hard on yourself or others. 

Choose friends who can lift you up.Talk to and hang out with friends and family. Make new friends with those who love you and really care about you.  Choose your friends carefully. Be careful of people who may make you feel bad or unhappy about yourself. 

Get to know yourself. What are your values, your beliefs, your morals（道德观）, your wants, your needs and your tastes? 

You can't be perfect; you can only be the best you can be. No one in this world is perfect, so don't blame（责备）yourself for making a mistake or not being perfect. Also, stop comparing yourself to others.

Be kind to others and do nice things for them. This will help you to build your self-confidence. You will realize that by making other people happy, you will also become happy with your life and yourself.

One day, a boy had a fight with one of his classmates. He didn't wait until school was over, and hurried home to his grandfather . He told him his story angrily. "He is really bad," the boy said, "and I hate him."

The grandfather said, "Let me tell you a story. When I was a boy, I sometimes hated others for what they did, too."

Han Hong is  famous singer in China. She is always ready to help those in need. 

In 2008, Han put on a charity performance for Wenchuan, Sichuan Province, after a great earthquake. After that, she set  her foundation (基金会)—Han Hong Love Charity Foundation on May 9, 2012.

Every year, she put  (she) into the volunteer work of helping those in need. She  (raise) much money for them, sometimes, she also sings in order to cheer them up. Now more and more volunteers, including doctors, nurses, teachers and other loving people, join the group. Wherever there are  (difficult), they go to give the people a hand. When Han Hong sees smiles on their faces, she always has a strong feeling of  (satisfy). 

In 2020, a terrible disease (疾病) called COVID-19 broke out in Wuhan. She organized to donate for people in Wuhan instead of  (put) on a concert in Wuhan on February 29th. She kept working for many days and she  (fall) ill at last. She did  many great things for Wuhan that she became one of the most admirable (令人尊重的) artists. 

"Many great artists in the world are known for their great love. That's the amazing thing about human nature," Han said. We believe those poor people will become  (happy) than before. 

I'm forty. I left school 22 years ago. I don't regret many things about my school days but there are a few things I wish I'd known earlier as a girl. So here is my list of three things I'd learned at school.

□As a young child you try many new things. If you fail, you try again until you learn. Then you start school where you are usually only praised for doing things correctly. So what happens? You stop trying new things in case you get it wrong. I always remind myself: I won't give up halfway until I make it.

□I always wanted to be the best and one way of feeling good about myself was to see how much better I was than others. There was only one problem with this. When I saw they were better than me, I felt terrible. Now I compare me with myself. I asked myself if I did things as well as I could.

□How much time do you spend worrying about the future? I used to worry a lot. Now I know most things you fear usually never happen. If they happen, then they will most often not be as bad as you expected. In 6 months you probably won't remember most of the things you worry about now.

In 2004, Zhang Guimei saw a girl sitting silently on the side of a road on a cold morning, with a broken basket at her side.

Zhang, a local high school teacher, asked what was wrong. The girl told Zhang that she wanted to go to school, but her family was too poor to afford it. Zhang went to the 14-year-old girl's home and advised her parents to allow their daughter to continue schooling. However, they finally refused her. Unable to help, Zhang left. With the teenager always on her mind, Zhang was trying to work out how to help the local girls.

She came up with the idea of building a girls-only high school where students wouldn't have to pay anything. In 2007, Zhang attended an important meeting. She spoke, through media, to the public about her long-hidden dream. With the support from the local government and warm-hearted people, Huaping Girls' High School was opened in 2008. On the first day of the new school year, 100 students entered the school, most of whom were from mountainous areas. Since she started the school, Zhang Guimei has visited more than 1,600 families, traveled more than110,000 kilometers, and walked to many places to encourage parents to send their daughters to school for more than 15 years, so the girls could improve their education to change their lives.

Thanks to Zhang's efforts to help the students improve their studies, many of them were able to get offers from universities. Zhang Guimei worked silently for years, helping more than 1,800 girls in poor mountainous areas realize their dreams.

I've been in China for two months now. I want to study in a local university, so I took some Chinese classes. I 1 on China because it's a country with trade relationships all over the world. Studying here could be useful in finding a good job in 2 or business. What's more, Chinese culture is really interesting, so choosing to come here was a 3 decision for me. China isn't like I thought it might be. I thought it would be quite old and traditional, but in many ways, the cities are just as 4 as London. There's so much more food to try and it's all delicious! The prices are very low, so it's great for my 5 . The people I meet here are very welcoming 6 me as a foreigner. However, 7 anyone speaksEnglish in my area, so it can be a bit hard at times. But I guess that's why I'm here. I also get a chance to 8 the city. I usually get up early each morning to enjoy a big 9 on the street, and then I often visit a park. I'm really interested in kung fu, so I 10 a lot of time in the city parks practising with the locals. I love my life in China.

Perhaps you've heard of the huge action superstar of the 1980s and 90s, Arnold Schwarzenegger, famous for movies like The Terminator. Even now, at the age of 76, Schwarzenegger has never given up on his passion for bodybuilding and physical fitness.

As a child born in 1947 in Austria, Schwarzenegger had watched movies about Hercules(赫拉克勒斯,大力神) and dreamed of being as big as the heroes he saw on the screen. Schwarzenegger began working on his dream when he was a teenager, exercising and weightlifting nonstop. As a young man he would take part in the biggest bodybuilding competitions in the world, winning the titles of Mr Universe five times and Mr Olympia seven times.

At the height of his bodybuilding, Schwarzenegger decided to try and break into Hollywood. He moved to the US with little money, knowing hardly any English. But he worked tirelessly on learning the language and acting.

He wasn't welcomed into Hollywood with open arms, being told his ac cent wouldn't work, his name was too long and that his body was too big. "…Everyone said…‘You will never become a leading man',"Schwarzenegger said in an interview with Virgin Radio UK.

But Schwarzenegger wasn't going to be held back."I didn't listen to the naysayers,"said Schwarzenegger,"…like Mandela always said, everything is impossible until someone does it. And that's the way I feel."

Schwarzenegger went on to become the Governor(州长) of California in 2003 and ran for two terms before returning to the world of acting. He continues to act, runs exercise programs and has also written a number of books on personal fitness and achieving success.
