In Thailand, people do not eat with chopsticks, like in China, Japan and Korea. They use spoons and forks. . Because most food is already cut. If you need to cut things, use the side of your spoon.   . If you are right-handed, keep the spoon in your right hand and the fork in your left hand. . The rice is not on the same plate with the other food. It is not necessary to finish all your rice or all your food. It is good to leave a little on your plate. If you eat everything, it means you want more.

      . The host will ask you two or three times if you want more food. It is the same with whatever you are drinking. During the meal, never empty your cup or glass. When it is less than half full, your host or neighbor will fill it again.    . Always refill(再加满) your neighbor's glass. This means that you must keep an eye on your neighbor's glass all through the meal.

    Boston Children's Museum is the second oldest children's museum in the United States. It has been teaching children with a huge collection of objects (实物) since 1913. Here's a list of some interesting exhibits in the museum.

    The Natural History Museum is close to the Science Museum in South Kensington, London. It houses the largest natural history collection in the world. Over seventy million specimens (标本) are kept there, and many of them are displayed (显示) using the latest interactive technology. For example, you can experience an earthquake and meet a life size blue whale face to face. The collection started in 1753 and grew as more and more explorers and scientists gave their collections to the museum. In the mid 一 19th century, a new museum building was designed to house it. The building opened in 1881 is interesting itself, because all of the decorations are related to natural history topics.

    As well as the curator and the workers who look after the museum, there are also 300 scientists working there on different aspects of the natural world, so it is a real, living museum.

    Like all of London's main museums, the entrance there is free, except for special exhibits, and the opening hours are generous.

    Thanksgiving Day is a public holiday. It is on the fourth Thursday in November in the US and on the second Monday in October in Canada.

    For many Americans, it is the most important holiday apart from Christmas. Schools. offices and most businesses are closed for Thanksgiving Day, and many people make the whole weekend a vacation.

    Today people celebrate Thanksgiving Day to remember the early days. The most important thing of the celebration is a traditional dinner with food that comes from North America. The food includes turkey, sweet potatoes and so on.

    On Thanksgiving Day there are special television programmes and sports events. Thanksgiving Day is considered as the beginning of Christmas period, and next day many people go out to shop for Christmas presents.

    Vanuatu is an island nation in the South Pacific. It is one of the smallest countries in the world. But for those who are interested in adventures and sports, there is a lot to do. Vanuatu's islands offer visitors two of the most exciting and dangerous activities in the world: volcano (火山) surfing and lend diving.

    Volcano Surfing On Tanna Island, Mount Yasur rises about 361 metres into the sky. Yasur is an active volcano. and it erupts (爆发) almost every day, sometimes several times a day. For centuries, people have climbed this mountain to visit the top. Recently, people have also started climbing Yasur to surf the volcano. In some ways, volcano surfing is like surfing in the sea, but in other ways it's very different. Volcano surfers try to escape the erupting volcano- without getting hit by flying rocks! It's fast. fun and dangerous-the perfect extreme sport (极限运动).

    Land Diving Most people are familiar with bungee jumping, but do you know bungee jumping started on Pentecost Island in Vanuatu and is almost fifteen centuries old? The activity, first called land diving. is part of a religious ceremony (宗教仪式). A man ties tree vines (树藤) to his legs. He then jumps head-first from a high tower to touch the earth with the top of his bead- without breaking the vine. Every spring, island natives(men only) still take part in this amazing activity.

    What is a Chinatown? Is it a town in China? Of course not! It is in a foreign( 外国的) country. It is a place where many overseas(海外的) Chinese live together.

    There are lots of Chinatowns in America. The biggest one is in New York. There are about 150,000 people in it. It is the home of Chinese New Yorkers. And it is also a good place to go.

    Shopping in Chinatown

    Shopping in Chinatown is fun. You can find lots of things there. Most of them are made in China. Mott Street is the best place to shop because the things there  are very cheap.

    Eating in Chinatown

Chinatown has more than 200 restaurants. You can enjoy traditional Chinese food there. New Silver Palace Restaurant is one of the best restaurants. Why don't you have breakfast with a cup of green tea in it? You can eat some Shanghai food in Evergreen Restaurant.

    Living in Chinatown

    Living in Chinatown is comfortable. You can find hospitals, schools, banks, libraries and supermarkets in it. In some schools, students must study Chinese. Many overseas Chinese send their children to these schools. They want their children to learn more about China and its culture.

    The Spring Festival is celebrated not only in China but also in other parts of the world. The traditional holiday is the most important t Chinese both at home and abroad.

    The Notting Hill is only a small area in west London, but the Notting Hill Carnival (诺丁山狂欢节) attracts millions of people from all over the world to have fun. The carnival is at the end of August each year, and the main days are Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.

    The festival started as a local West Indian event, but from a small procession (游行) through the streets of Notting Hill, it's a huge multi-cultural arts festival now. In fact, it is the largest street carnival (嘉年华会; 狂欢节) in Europe. Only the Rio Carnival in Brazil is bigger.

    At the heart of the festival is a spectacular (壮观的) parade (游行). The carnival route (路线) is three miles long and hundreds of groups move along it. There's music, decorated floats, elaborated costumes and dancing. There are also live stages where artists from all over the world perform, but there is a lot more to the festival than just music. There are 300 food stalls selling international food so you can't get hungry. There's theatre, arts and crafts, too.

    You can sing and dance or you can just watch. But there's no need to be quiet.

    You can buy whistles and blow them to make lots of noise! The Notting Hill Carnival welcomes visitors and tourists.
