Once,in a lovely garden,lived the most beautiful butterfly in the world.She was so pretty,and had won so many beauty contests  she had become very proud.One day,the naughty cockroach(蟑螂)got fed up with her showing off,and decided (teach)her a lesson.

She went to see the butterfly,and in front of everyone she said that the butterfly wasn't really that (beauty),and that the butterfly only won the competitions because the judges had been paid.In (real),the cockroach was the most beautiful.

The butterfly was (anger) and said to the cockroach,"I will beat you in a beauty contest,with whichever judges you yourself choose."

"OK,I accept.See you on Saturday," answered the cockroach,and left without (wait) for a reply.

That Saturday everyone went to the beauty contest.The butterfly (arrive) completely confident of victory until she saw  the judges were:cockroaches,worms and beetles.All of (they) preferred the ugliness and bad smell of the cockroach.

The butterfly was left (cry)and disappointed,wanting never to enter another beauty contest in her life.Fortunately,the cockroach forgave the butterfly for her pride and they became friends.

It is almost five years since I begin to learn English.I'm glad to say I'm getting along good with it.But first I came across a lot of difficulties.I couldn't pronounce English words well,so could I remember the words I had learned.In class,I couldn't understand that the teacher had said.I almost lost heart when the teacher told me,"Keeping on,and you'll do well." I was great encouraged.I started working hard at English.Under the help of him and my classmates,I made some progresses.I'm very pleasing,and I will work harder.

Two weeks earlier,my son,Ben,had got in touch.He'd moved to England with his mum when he was three and it had been 13 years since I'd 1 seen him.So imagine my 2 when he emailed me saying he wanted to come to visit me.

I was 3 !I arrived early at Byron Bay where we were supposed to 4 .The bay was 5 in sunshine,and there was a group of kayakers around 150m off the shore.Getting a little 6 ,I realized one kayak(皮划艇) was in 7 ."Something's not 8 !"I took off my T-shirt and 9 into the water.I saw there were two instructors on board and a man lying across the middle.He was 10 violently.Linking arms with one of the instructors,I helped 11 the young man out of the water.He was unconscious and as I looked at his face,something 12 to me.Those brown eyes were very 13 ."What's his name?"I asked the instructor."Ben,"he replied,and immediately I 14 .That stranger was my son! 

The instructors called an ambulance.15 ,after a brief stay in hospital,Ben was well enough to be allowed to 16 and later the family met up for dinner.We chatted about everything and then Ben 17 to me."I just want to say thank you,"he said."You 18 my life!"

I still can't believe what a 19 it was.I'm just so glad I was there 20 to help my son.
