Fire can help people in many ways. But it can also be very harmful(有害的). Fire can keep your house warm, give light(光)and cook food. But fire can burn(烧)things, too. Big fire can burn trees, houses, animals or people.
Nobody knows how people began to use fire. But there are many interesting old stories about how a man or woman started(开始)a fire. One is about a man. The man lived very long time ago. He went up to the sun and brought fire down.
Today people know how to make a fire with matches. Children sometimes like to play with them. But matches can be very dangerous(危险). One match can burn a piece of paper, and then it could be a house. A small fire can turn a big fire very quickly. So you must be careful with matches.
Be careful with fire, and it will help you. But if you aren't careful with fire, it may hurt(伤害) you.

Tom and John were brothers. They were in the same room and were in the same class. One day they were unhappy with each other. For seven days, they were not good friends. One evening, Tom was very tired when he was back from school. He put a piece of paper on the small table near John's bed. On it were the words: John---wake me up at 7:00 am.---Tom.
When Tom woke up the next morning, it was nearly 8:00 am. There was another piece of paper on the table. On it were the words: Tom---wake up. It's 7:00 am.---John.
