There are many great inventions in the world, but my favourite invention is the computer. The computer helps me a lot. With the computer, I can find lots of information I need. I can read e-books, research the latest news and watch movies. I can play games or listen to music when I am tired. It is easy to communicate with my friends. I often chat with them through e-mails and QQ. I think in the future, the computer will be used by everyone.

    Min and Mog get up at seven o'clock in the evening. They have dinner at half past seven. They like eating fish. At eight o'clock, they start to work. They catch a lot of mice. The mice are afraid of them. Min and Mog have breakfast at six o'clock in the morning. They go to bed at half past six in the morning. They are tired.

Everybody has a home. People have homes. Animals also have homes. People live in many different houses. Animals have different homes, too. Some animals live in holes(洞) under the ground. The woodchuck(土拨鼠)lives under the ground. His home has two doors. If an enemy(敌人)comes into his home from one door, the woodchuck goes out from the other door. Some animals live in holes in trees. Some squirrels(松鼠)have nests(窝)high in trees and some live in holes in trees. Some birds live in holes in trees. Some birds live in nests in trees.

    Mr. White lives in a tall building. He lives on the sixteenth floor. Every day, he takes a lift (电梯) up and down.

    One Saturday afternoon, he went shopping with his little son and bought many things. They drove back and carried all the things up to the lift. Suddenly they saw a piece of paper on the wall. It said, "Dear sirs, there's something wrong with the lift. Please use the stairs now." The son took a bag and ran upstairs quickly. But Mr. White walked and walked.

    At last they stood in front of their door feeling very tired. Mr. White began to look for the keys, but he could not find them. Suddenly he shouted in a loud voice, "Oh, no! I've left my keys in the car."

Three turtles

    Three turtles live in a house. They decide to have a cup of coffee. So they go to a care. Just as they go into the care, it starts to rain. They have no umbrella with them. So the biggest one says to the smallest one,   "Go home and get the umbrella."

    The little turtle answers, "I will, if you don't drink my coffee when I go to get the umbrella." "We don't." The other two promise. Two hours later, the big turtle says to the middle turtle, "Well, I guess he isn't coming back, so we can drink his coffee." Just then, there is a voice. "If you do, I will not go to get the umbrella."

    It is the 1st October 2019 today. It is a special day for me, Lily. Because my birthday and my country China's birthday are both on this day. I can tell you something about China.

    China is a great country with over five thousand years history(历史), but we all know it is China's seventieth birthday today. Seventy years ago the great man Chairman Mao announced (宣布)to the whole world, the new China was born! During the last 70 years, China was becoming stronger and stronger. Now we have world-leading tech companies (世界领先的科技公司), like Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent... We Chinese people are living happily now. We are glad we are in this country.

    Rules are like rulers they tell us what we should do. We use signs to talk about rules. There are four kinds of signs. They are warning signs, information signs, direction signs, instruction (指令)signs. We can find a 'No smoking' in the library. It means we mustn't smoke. We can find a 'No swimming' sign by a river or a pool. It tells us we can't swim here. An instruction sign tells us how to do or not to do something. A direction sign tells us where to go. Signs are very important for everyone. They tell us what we must or mustn't do. We should obey the signs. If there are no signs on the road, accidents will happen everywhere. So we should follow the signs.

It's fine today. Jill, Jill's mum, Joe, Kitty and Alice are in the park. They have a picnic(野餐).

Jill's mum: What do we have, children?

Jill: We have some water and some fruit.

Joe: We have some juice and some sandwiches(三明治).

Kitty&Alice: We have some biscuits, some apples, some candy and some cakes.
Jill's mum: OK. Let's have a picnic now.

Children: Great!

My life has changed a lot in the last few years. My daily life is different and I used to like different things when I was a child. I didn't use to like tests. Now, I don't mind them. I didn't use to like English, now is my favorite subject. I used to like playing tennis. Now, I like swimming and playing ping-pong. I used to have curly hair, now I have straight hair.

I used to be short. Now I'm a little taller. I used to be really quiet, now I'm outgoing. I used to be afraid of speaking in front of a group. But I don't worry about speaking in front of a group. Maybe, I will change more!

Sam is asking a policeman.

Sam: Excuse me. Where is the art museum?

Policeman: It's near the post office on Main Street.

Sam: Is it far?

Policeman: No.

Sam: How can I get there?

Policeman: Go straight and turn left at the bookstore. Then turn right at the cinema and you can see the art museum.

Sam: Thanks!
