I grew up in the suburb in Pudong, Shanghai. As a child, I spent most of my days in my own hometown. A trip to Puxi by bus was usually a holiday (惊讶). It was very hard to visit it.
Things （改变） a lot in 2009，when Metro Line 8 came to my town. Since then, even more metro lines have （出现） in Pudong. It is now easy for me and my town's people to get to any place in Puxi.
In the past, one of my high school classmates lived fourteen （公 里） away from the school. Every morning, she had to get up at 4 to catch the first bus to get to school on time. But now, my teachers tell me, many of their students live （远） away. Of course, thanks to Metro Line 11, they don't have to get upat4 a. m.
With more people now easily getting to places further away, ever more corners of the city are becoming much （有活力的）. As you see, the metro has helped the city to （发展） in a better way.
However，after studying Shanghai's geological structure, some foreign （专家） once said that it was impossible to build a metro line in the city. But today Shanghai is home to one of the （世界上的） largest metro systems. As we get on our metro trains every morning, we might also ask （我们自己）： What "impossibilities" in our own lives can we turn into "possibilities"?
