As in much of Latin America, the school year begins in early March and ends in early December, with a winter break in July. You'll have classes Monday through Friday either in the morning (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) or afternoon (1 p.m. to 6 p.m.). The rest of the day is yours to explore your community, or spend time with your host family. It's also a good idea to come across mouth-watering barbeque, or even to learn to tango!
