Steamboat Willie is a 1928 American cartoon directed( 导演) by Walt Disney and his friend. It was made in black and white. In this cartoon, people first saw Mickey Mouse and his girlfriend Minnie together. 

Steamboat Willie was in the history books as the first cartoon with music and sound. Music for Steamboat Willie was made by Wilfred Jackson and Bert Lewis, including the song Steamboat Bill. Walt Disney performed all of the voices in the film. 

The film introduced one of the world's most popular cartoon characters Mickey. In 1978, Mickey became the first cartoon character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1994, people voted(投票) Steamboat Willie 13th in the book The 50 Greatest Cartoons, which listed the greatest cartoons of all time. In 1998, the film was selected (被列人) in the United States National Film Registry.
