It was a warm and sunny day. Tammy put on her best clothes. She would go on a 1 trip with her family. The trip was different from usual ones. On the way, someone 2 hello to them, but Tammy could hear nothing because she was deaf (聋的).
Soon Tammy 3 Dr. Steven's hospital. She put on a hearing aid (助听器) there. When Dr. Steven 4 it on, Tammy was so excited, because it was the first time that she heard a sound!
Some people think that deaf children are not very smart. However, Dr. Steven doesn't think so. So he works hard to help children with hearing 5 in poor places. He has helped hundreds of children 6 the world. With Dr. Steven's help, many children like Tammy can start to learn with hearing aids. They are 7 and do very well in school.
Dr. Steven also helps people learn how to take good care of their 8 . That helps them hear clearer or even get rid of (摆脱) hearing aids slowly. He knows that one can't 9 enjoy the beauty of the world without hearing any sound.
As for Tammy, she is experiencing the world in a new 10 . She is so thankful to Dr. Steven. She hopes that other children with hearing problems can get help, too.
