The Great Chinese Writer
Lu Xun
(Sept. 25th, 1881-Oct. 19 th, 1936)
Lu Xun was a great Chinese writer. He wrote lots of stories. And he also wrote articles(文章)about Chinese people.
Lu Xun was born(出生)in a rich family in 1881. He had a happy childhood. In 1893,his father was ill. And the family met a lot of difficulties(困难). These early experiences(经历)influenced(影响)his writing greatly.
In 1899, Lu Xun went to Nanjing to study at a university. In 1902, he studied in Japan. There, he began to write articles and many books. He went back to China in 1909.
He was a teacher in Beijing. After working for many years, Lu Xun wrote articles again. In 1918, he wrote a short story Diary of a Madman. It was the first novel(小说) written in the vernacular Chinese in China. It helped the novel make a great success(成功). This, together with his novel The True Story of Ah Q, made Lu Xun a great Chinese writer.
Today, you can see many of his writings in schoolbooks.
